with a mindful nature walk
, for charity! Walking meditation is one of the most accessible ways to start a Mindfulness practice. This first mindful walking event hosted by WHyyc will serve as an intro to mindful walking.
After a brief introduction to mindfulness, you will learn how to create a moving meditation in your daily life with a silent, mindful walk. Your guide, Sally Powis Campbell, is a registered psychologist, yoga teacher, meditation guide, mindful mama, and competitive trail runner.
By learning to establish awareness during walking meditation—when you’re physically moving with your eyes open— it won’t be difficult to arouse that same wakeful quality during other activities, such as practicing yoga, eating, washing dishes, or driving! It will be easier for you to arouse mindfulness while walking to a bus stop, through the park, or during any other time. Your meditation will begin to permeate your entire life.
You will receive mindful living homework and resources to carry the mindful living practices shared prior to and after the silent walking meditation beyond the walk! The walk will take place monthly, including through the winter months. REGISTER HERE
A portion of the $10 entry will go to Green Calgary. Since 1978, Green Calgary has been a leading urban environmental charity supporting Calgarians in living a more sustainable life; helping them take effective environmental action in their homes, work places, schools, and communities.
