Making beautiful, mindful meals is an art form. There are a few fave tools I find help me make stunning whole food dishes in the kitchen. Here are a few:
THE VEGGIE SPIRALIZER :: not only does it make fun noodles out of veggies that kids adore, it’s a great way to get creative with some of your fave comfort food dishes. Think pad thai but with zucchini noodles instead of rice noodles. I personally have found the Paderno brand best for the variety of vegetables & fruit I like to spiralize (carrots, potatoes, sweet potatoes, zucchini, beets, apples, etc). You can buy online or locally at food shops like Williams Sonoma.
THE BLENDER :: Not all blenders are created equal. Do your research to find out which ones will do the trick for you. If you want to make smoothies… soups… nut butter… just figure out the uses & then blend away! Vitamix is the brand I use for the posts on my blog. I’m so excited that Costco & Costco Online, in addition to specialty food shops, is carrying Vitamix at reduced prices!
THE FOOD PROCESSOR :: I make a lot of cookies, batters, nut butter & energy balls in my food processor, not to mention grate carrots for weekly food prep & grate cheese in a flash for pasta dishes or pizza. My food processor gets used daily! I like the medium to top of line Cuisineart brand that has a small liquid bowl that you can place in the large bowl (great for baby food & dressings/sauces).
